Justin Allport flew from Sydney to LA to San Jose then paddled straight out to Ghost Trees where he played houdini in the bowels of this beast of a wave. He came out and made it to the end of the wave, carved a deep round roundhouse cutback where his back foot came out of the footstrap and the wave rolling over the top of him. His leg snapped in 5 pieces and I'll never forget the flapping of his broken leg as Skindog pulled him out of the impact zone on the rescue sled before the next wave hit him...
